A bomb has been found near the airport in Jabalpur, MP. Panic spread across the area upon sighting this unexploded bomb. This particular area of Jabalpur houses the Khamaria Ordnance Factory, along with army infantry and weapons factories. Consequently, the seriousness of finding a bomb increased.

Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Investigation revealed that it is a live mortar weighing around 12 kg. It is being described as an Army UXO (Unexploded Ordnance), meaning an unexploded live bomb. The police immediately informed the military officers about the matter. The army is now taking action.

A Live Bomb Spotted on Saturday Evening

In Gaderi village of Khamaria police station area, adjacent to the airport in Dumna, excavation work is underway for the construction of a house. During this, a live bomb was spotted on Saturday evening. This triggered a commotion. Panicked villagers immediately informed the police about the matter.

Major Army Ordnance Factory and Weapons Depot in Khamaria Area

The Khamaria area houses a major army ordnance factory and weapons depot, so the news of finding a live bomb caused a stir. The police reached the spot in Gaderi village. As a precautionary measure, the entire area was also cordoned off.

Excavation Work for Building Columns Underway

According to police officers, excavation work for columns was underway for building construction on the plot of Sunil Yadav, a resident of the village. Meanwhile, at around 6 pm, the labourers found the bomb underground. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and cordoned off the scene for security reasons.

When Police Personnel Looked Closely, It Turned Out to Be an Old Army Bomb

When the police personnel from Khamaria police station who arrived at the spot looked closely, it turned out to be an old army bomb. This is a UXO (Unexploded Ordnance), meaning an unexploded live bomb. The police informed the Indian Army officers about finding the explosive. This army bomb is quite old and had been buried here for years.

Police officers stated that as soon as the information was received, military officials were informed about the matter so that the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad could come to the spot and safely defuse the bomb. Currently, the army is engaged in its operation. Meanwhile, the police have also started investigating the matter.
