A major accident occurred in Prayagraj at approximately 2 am on Friday. A Bolero vehicle carrying pilgrims from Chhattisgarh to the Maha Kumbh collided head-on with a bus on the Mirzapur-Prayagraj main road, near Manu ke Pura village, under the Meja police station area. The impact destroyed the Bolero, resulting in the immediate death of ten pilgrims.
Police arrived at the scene and used a JCB to remove the bodies from the wreckage. The bodies were then sent for post-mortem examination. The accident caused widespread panic and distress. It has been reported that the bus involved in the accident was also returning from the Maha Kumbh and was carrying pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh.
Driver's Drowsiness Blamed for Accident
